Old Glory
Ithaca, New York - Located on the southern tip of Cayuga Lake, in one of the most "gorges" places in the world, lies the city of Ithaca.   Ithaca is home to two of the countries most noted colleges, Ithaca College and Cornell University.   Because of this, Ithaca is rich in culture and offers a wide variety of activities.   With a population of about 75,000 people (during the school year), various ethnic groups can be seen here.   Such places as The Commons and Collegetown are districts aimed at the college population, with many artsy shops, cafes, and eateries.   And because this place is so "gorges", you'll be sure to find one of the many waterfalls in the area to be magnificent.   All of these attributes, and more, create the perfect college life.

Overlooking Cayuga Lake, one of the many Finger Lakes in Upstate New York, it is one of the best colleges in the country, rated #8 by US News.   I was accepted into the School of Business at Ithaca College through the Early Admission program.   On the opposing hill lies one of the most well-noted universities in the world, Cornell.   Although athletic competition is high, academically IC and Cornell are sisters.   Students at IC attend courses at Cornell that are not offered on campus, and vice versa.   I plan to take advantage of this later in my academic career.   Ithaca College is most noted for its music and communications schools, while its theatre, business, and health sciences schools are growing in popularity.   The school has an enrollment of about 6,200 students, most of whom live on campus.   Students in Ithaca enjoy the wide variety of experiences that are at their door step.
